High School Reports

Cheese Athletics' High School Soccer Power Rankings

October 29, 2008

1 Milwaukee Marquette
Is there any doubt that this is the class team of Wisconsin?
2 Appleton North
The epitome of a team's team.  No stand out players just quality play throughout the roster.  With the coaching North has, there is no reason this team won't win their Sectional matchups.
3 Muskego
It pains us to put them this high but beating a nationally ranked team in Arrowhead, it is hard to not give them the respect they deserve.
4 Arrowhead
After spending the majority of the 2008 season as the team to beat, losing to Muskego exposed more than a few of their weaknesses.  #1 weakness?  Heart.
5 Brookfield East
Coach Dundun may be more worried about team rankings than team wins.  East earned their 0-0 decision against Marquette but the fact that they "earned" it, should tell the whole story.  East is not in the same league of Marquette.

6 Mequon Homestead
This is a team that beat Muskego but were still outplayed for the majority of the match.  This is a team that will have a disappointing early exit from this year's tournament.  They do not have the defense to hold up against the league's best teams.
7 Milwaukee Pius
They have had some good decisions, namely their route against Catholic Memorial but this is still a one trick pony.  At some point someone will guard the massively overrated Surprise.
8 Brookfield Central
Patented Brookfield soccer.  10 midfielders, no defenders.
9 New Berlin West
Their flat four defense refuses to become part of the attack but with their personal they could be a difficult opponent the rest of the way.
10 Port Washington
Rounding out the top 10 as a team that has had some good decisions but lacks team play.
