  October 8, 2008
1 Carroll University
At 3-0 and the monkey that is St. Norbert off their back Carroll is by far the class of the Midwest Conference.  There should be some close calls this season but don't expect any conference losses.
2 St. Norbert College
After losing 1-0 to Carroll, St Norbert has beaten the conference weaklings with ease.  The game of the year will happen when the two top teams square off for round two.
3 Grinnell College
Grinnell has had some easy match ups; beating Monmouth 3-0 and Illinois College 2-0.  It would have been nice to see a decision against Beloit but this will always be the team that surprises come late October.
4 Beloit College
Having narrowly beaten Ripon and losing to Lawrence and St. Norbert, this team may be entirely overrated.  If they can some how manage a decision against Carroll they may prove to actually be the 4th best team in the conference.
5 Lake Forest College
Where there is money there is soccer.  Except in Lake Forest.  This team is borderline terrible.  With the players that they have there is no reason to be getting blown out every couple of games.  Expect them to continue sliding as the season goes on.
6 Lawrence University
Beating Beloit will be this team's crowning achievement, to bad they got slaughtered by Carroll and will get slaughtered by St. Norbert.
7 Illinois College
This might be the highest ranking in team history.  Congratulations on still having a -1 goal differential.
8 Knox College
Losing to Lake Forest and Illinois College, while barely beating Monmouth does not spell will for Knox.
9 Monmouth College
Blown out by Grinnell with the tough part of their schedule coming up.  Perhaps they should start thinking about next year.
10 Ripon College
Ripon is terrible, if they get a single conference win, it will be a successful season.
