MVP

I think we are at that point in the season where we can rationally discuss valid MVP candidates. Now clearly, most of you would vote for me, with the constant MVP chants from the crowds and my one assist that ended up being the seasons first goal. Not only that, but if you go beyond the numbers like when I make fun of Al for taping his socks like a small female, or for explaining to Callen that the republican party are a bunch of rich neo's that are trying to murder poor people.

Before casting your vote, I urge you all to think long and hard. Which do you prefer? One assist or someone who 'scores goals'?

well...as they say...the stats don't lie.

Assists - 1

Goals - 0

Sweet.

Its your heart and jumping abilities that really count, though.

Yep the stats dont lie, the MVP this fall has been the DEFENSE. At first glance I guess maybe Ben. Bubba and Al are a big part of the heart of this team and are well deserving. I just think with a 1-0 and 2-0 which really was a 1-0 except Powder put one in at the 90th min. The defense has come up big in two game of the five games so far. We had to have a shutout to get a win in those games or at least a draw, thankfully the offsense was able to get goals in each of those games for the win. Ben in the Aztecas game came up big on the end of the Bubba pass to tie it up at the end. Unless you want to give the MVP for the best volleyball hand ball ever then DRAGO you get my vote!

gotta love the back three and keepers this year. If there was an actual mvp award, my vote would go to the defensive unit or the outside mids, both have been completely night and day from the past couple of seasons.

We're gonna need a points system for this.

I love our defense. And our goalkeepers haven't had a lot to do, but Nick and Jayson have both come up with big plays to keep shutouts alive this year. But I honestly think our biggest improvement this year is the outside-mids. They help back on Defense and they get up into the attack and make good runs. Love it.

Our defense has always been pretty solid. Really the only goals that we have given up are own goals, missed calls or pk's. I can't remember the last "good goal" we've let in. As far as MVP goes, Dave has to rank up there as he's really our only true striker and he puts the ball in the back of the net when we need it. There are plenty of other people that may deserve this too, but that is just what sticks out in my mind atm.

Our D may have always been good based on having good players back there, but we never used to play mistake-free defense. This last Fall we played a lot more mistake-free defense and even when mistakes were made we had numbers back on D to help cover for mistakes. Thats what has improved.
