Short Report St. Norbert

The Green Knights of St. Norbert scrimmaged Concordia (Wisconsin) on Thursday night for their first preseason game. The first team for St. Norbert looked every bit as sharp as they had throughout most of the 2008 season.

Ben Vanden Avond scored early in the match with a terrific left footed strike from about 18 yards out. The second goal was made by Nick Hren to make the score 2-0. It was clear St. Norbert was a team out on a mission; they dominated most facets of the game throughout the match.

Concordia scored late in the match while both teams had their back-ups on the field. If St. Norbert had a flaw, it would be their second team allowing too many opportunities and not taking total control.

St. Norbert opens the regular season at Finalandia on September 2nd at 5:45pm.
