Marc Hietpas of the Carroll University Men's soccer team tore his ACL in the first half of Carroll's 7-0 victory over conference rival Ripon College, effectively ending his season. In the victory, Hietpas had two shots, both on target, one scored and the game winning assist to Andy Prentice to start the game.
In 2008 Hietpas had 17 goals, 5 of which were game winners and 7 assists. Between 2008 and 2009 Hietpas earned 3 player of the week awards, first team all Midwest Conference and second team All-Region.
In 2009 Hietpas had 6 goals, 6 assists (18 points), posted 47 shots, putting 26 of them on goal. Marc's skill will clearly be missed but Carroll is more than lucky to keep his presence in the locker room for the remainder of the 2009 season.
